Under the 1833 Factory Act no child could work in factories beneath the age of nine; and the hours kids may work was restricted, in line with their age e.g. 9 to thirteen yr olds couldn’t work for greater than nine hours, and thirteen to 18 year olds couldn’t work for greater than 12 hours a day.
It’s also a nice basic set of studies that expose an individual to many prospects. I would have gone additional, but I was (and nonetheless am) prevented from enrolling at a four-year establishment because of the entry requirement in math. I just wouldn’t have a math-oriented mind, and try though I did, I simply could not get past elementary Algebra, not to mention the Intermediate stage demanded by the 4-yr school.
Online programs often require no nose to nose interaction with classmates or teachers. Information on assignments is posted on-line and could also be accomplished at leisure without having to attend class meetings. While the leisure of this idea is nice, it takes away from the interpersonal skills that college students want to accumulate together with their training. I’m an enormous fan of BBC Schools web sites in Great Britain, and they have wonderful interactives for kids in Maths (Math) and Literacy (Language Arts).
Great read! We do the same, though our children watch just a little greater than 30 min a day. One of the perfect and our youngsters fav’s is the Leap Frog DVD’s.
